swissgrid ag will commence operations as a national transmission grid operator on December 15, 2006. As a transmission grid operator, swissgrid is responsible for the safe, reliable and economic operation of the extra high-voltage grid. swissgrid will also assume the functions which have been performed up to now by ETRANS AG, the Swiss co-ordinating unit for the extra high-voltage grid.
As a part of this restructuring/transfer, the management of the ETRANS website’s “Services” section will be affected. For technical reasons ETRANS AG will permit swissgrid ag to use the ETRANS web site – or rather "Services" area – as a platform until technical implementation has been completed. However, ETRANS will have no control over the provision and maintenance of the content, nor for the delivery of the relevant services. All services and content will be provided and maintained solely by swissgrid.
